Sighter Leader vs. Suspension Indicator
Nov 09, 2017 - 12:41 PM - by Hooty
Been researching Euro Style nymphing utilizing a “sighter” leader vs. a suspension indicator. For smaller water, seems like the sighter would be a great option. However, does anyone have experience with this technique at Lees Ferry?

First year in AZ fly fishing
Dec 30, 2017 - 9:29 AM - by Bucksnort

I apologize for this lengthy message but I am after some sorely needed information but before I ask, I want to say fly fishing in Arizona has been a culture shock to me. You may know I fly fished in Colorado for forty years. We moved to Giblert to be closer to our daughter and grandchildren.

When I say culture shock, I don't want anyone to think I'm a snobby angler just because I lived and fished in Colorado. My gosh, I take my hat off to the anglers... [Read More]

Chevlon fishing report
Dec 25, 2017 - 8:42 AM - by Levisdad
I float tubed the upper end of Chevlon yesterday form 11am -4pm. Caught 5 bows 1 brown, 10"-16"... Black egg sucking leach was the go to pattern.

The high temp was 60 give or take, hardly any wind, mostly sunny. Some ice on the lake up near the creek. The 300 is open & dry. There are some small patches of packed snow once you get on the 169. The last 4 miles into Chevlon is dry. All the roads are fine! What a great day to be fishing. Looks like the weather is gona... [Read More]

Is Woods Canyon or Willow Springs still open?
Dec 19, 2017 - 2:44 PM - by WminPhoenix
I want to get some end of the year fishing in at Woods Canyon or Willow Springs tomorrow. I have not been able to find out any information if they are still open. Shelf ice I can deal with as my pontoon will slide over it and eventually break through.
Anybody been there in the last couple of days?

Fluorocarbon vs. Monofilament
Dec 24, 2017 - 8:21 AM - by Bucksnort
I watched an interesting video about the advantages and disadvantages of fluorocarbon and monofilament.

My questions are. Can you prove you catch more fish with fluorocarbon than monofilament? How 'bout this one. How many trout have you lost because your monofilament tippet broke from abrasion or, how many fish did you not catch because trout saw your line attached to the fly?

How did we ever catch trout before fluorocarbon?
