Removing Hooks from your body
Oct 18, 2017 - 7:34 PM - by Bucksnort
About 20 years ago, I had a #16 nymph hook lodged past the barb in the right side of my index finger next to the fingernail - ouch!. To make a long story short, a man in a store nearby used the procedure you see in the attachment to remove the hook. It was totaly painless. My fishing buddy that day is a medical doctor. He watched the procedure and made the comment that of all the years in medical school, they never taught the procedure.

A couple of months later, my fishing... [Read More]

I see that Apache were discovered in the creek around the turn of the century, but there was also a lot of human activity in the area prior to that. O Coupon ?
Oct 30, 2017 - 4:45 PM - by herm85023
Got a nice 25% off coupon from a local " fly fishing shop" beginning with the letter O. Went in and picked out a rod, and was planning on redeeming the coupon. Guy behind the counter says coupons are not for fly fishing gear...... Thought it was a fly shop ?

Who Are You?
Feb 08, 2006 - 10:06 AM - by Seldomseen
This is optional of course. Some folk would rather keep to themselves. I'm cool with that.

However, I'll Start.

My name is Mike M. and I was born in Tucson in 1969. I am a 3rd generation Arizonan and father of a 4th. I have spent a couple years in Texas and Oregon.

My family was always into the outdoors and made frequent trips all over the state, particularly the White Mountains since we had family up there.

I started fishing when I was a... [Read More]

Current Status of "Navigable Waters" in Arizona
Oct 23, 2017 - 10:19 PM - by Honest Abe
Hi To Everyone: I was born in Arizona (1948) and have practiced Environmental Law for many years. As a fisherman and attorney, the right to fish streams passing through private land has long been of interest to me.

In 1992, Arizona established a Commission to determine which waters in the state are "navigable." In the subsequent 25 years, the issue has gone through extensive hearings, lititgation, and court rulings. A summary of where things currently stand as of July... [Read More]
