Lower Salt River

I spoke to an angler who floats the Salt and fishes with spinning rods. He puts in at the parking area where the road to Saguaro Lake crosses over the Salt then goes downstream a couple of miles. I have forgotten the name of his take out point. He says he does it in inner tubes but I don't know just how these are arranged.

I have a pontoon boat which is powered either by oars or flippers or both. When the weather turns cooler, I may be interested in doing this.

Sighter Leader vs. Suspension Indicator
Nov 09, 2017 - 12:41 PM - by Hooty

Springerville Drug Store
Nov 04, 2017 - 9:24 PM - by Bucksnort

If you encounter private property/no trespassing signs, are the streams that run through the area considered private, or public? If I were to wade through the water, and not walk on the land, would that be acceptable?

This came up recently when I fished East... [Read More]

Removing Hooks from your body
Oct 18, 2017 - 7:34 PM - by Bucksnort
About 20 years ago, I had a #16 nymph hook lodged past the barb in the right side of my index finger next to the fingernail - ouch!. To make a long story short, a man in a store nearby used the procedure you see in the attachment to remove the hook. It was totaly painless. My fishing buddy that day is a medical doctor. He watched the procedure and made the comment that of all the years in medical school, they never taught the procedure.

A couple of months later, my fishing... [Read More]
