Yesterday we hit Knoll Lake, trip before that Woods Canyon... not too many folks seem to be catching, bait or fly folks.
Is there any stocking going on, and shouldn't we be catching hold overs ?
Anyone have an explanation about slow lake catching ?

Any new patterns learned or developed? Want to show some thing off? Post it up on this thread...
I'm still working on really simple patterns trying to get proportions right and selecting the right sized hackles. Mr. Blur showed me the right way to tie a PTN and a really simple peacock and partridge wet fly. Headed to Laguna in June and would like to do a little surf casting. More than likely I'll just take conventional gear. I don't have but a 5wt which would probably be ok for Perch, etc. but would rather bugger up a spin real with salt water than my fly rig.
I did make a call to CA fish and game for help figuring out the marine protected areas which encompass Laguna Beach. Surprisingly I received a call back from a Warden within the hour who was more than willing to help out.... [Read More]

Anybody have one in their fly box? This is when I wish I tied flies. I would love to have a couple of these for my trip to Northern New Mexico next month. Anybody interested in tying me a couple for trade or $.
